Programs SSU Overview The Area Salaries & Benefits

        The Area

The three-county area is generally rural and scenic.   Jefferson and Switzerland Counties border on the Ohio River with several valleys, high cliffs, and hills.  Beautiful woodlands are found throughout the area.  Parks and recreation areas abound. Scott County contains one of Indiana's largest man-made lakes.  There are several industries in the area with agriculture the largest.  Major agricultural crops are soybeans, corn, and tobacco.

The SSU staff resides in all parts of our service area, adjoining larger cities, and Kentucky.  The communities are small towns which afford a simpler life style and easy living.  These include Madison, Hanover, North Vernon, Scottsburg, Austin, Vevay, and Columbus.
